David has been involved in the health, safety and standards setting within the funeral, cremation and burial sector of the UK for over 35 years. He has managed and participated in national and international reviews of all manner of compliance standards within this sector and devised training programmes from basic health and safety, manual handling and infection control through to the more complicated topics of mortuary build and layouts, safer embalming practices and lone working.
David, has written highly respected industry guidance on very diverse subjects such as the handling of cases of avian flu, COVID, TB, Hepatitis B&C etc., as well as the more mundane issues of personal safety, fire risk assessment on small premises, and the safe and respectful handling of remains.
All these documents and associated training courses are aimed at improving the knowledge and working practices of employees, supervisors and managers in a very practical manner.
