John Harris MA

John Harris is a distinguished funeral director with over five decades of hands-on experience in the funeral profession. A fourth-generation member of the Cribb family, he continues the legacy of T Cribb & Sons, established in 1881 by his great-grandfather, Thomas Cribb. John holds a Master’s Degree in Death and Society from Reading University and has lectured extensively at postgraduate and Master’s levels at Bath and Reading Universities.

He is a founding member, Past President, and Fellow of the Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF), where he also chaired the Standards Committee for six years. His contributions to funeral education include serving as an external verifier for Bath University's Funeral Service Foundation Degree.

John is an international speaker on funeral history and practice and played a pivotal role in establishing the largest funeral home in Ghana. His leadership extends to multiple directorships, including T Cribb & Sons Ltd, TCS Exhumation Services Ltd, and Golden Charter Ltd, where is now a past Non-Executive Director and Trustee of the Golden Charter Trust.

Beyond his professional commitments, John is actively involved in charitable work as Chairman of Newham Riding for the Disabled and Trustee of Mitchells Miracles.
